BIO
Barbara invites the viewer to slow down and appreciate the stunning imperfections in objects we encounter every day. She incorporates and elevates the detritus of daily life into her works. Her love of the outdoors led her to examine her own behavior related to consumerism and to explore themes of consumption, waste, and decay. Her process often involves placing constraints on the work, such as a limited palette or the use of specific materials, as a way of exploring how limitations force one to find more creative solutions.
She currently lives and works in the Washington DC area. In recent years she exhibited in group shows locally and online and was featured in online independent art journals Chapter 89 Magazine and Toombes.
